Efforts to deploy production and business activities, accelerate the process of recovery and socio-economic development have had a clear effect on the labor market.

According to a report by the General Statistics Office, in the second quarter of 2022, the whole country had just over 8 million people aged 15 and over negatively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, down more than half compared to the previous quarter (a decrease of approximately 8.9 million people) and a decrease of 4.8 million people compared to the same period last year.

Employed workers aged 15 and over in the second quarter of 2022 reached 50.5 million people, an increase of 504.6 thousand people (equivalent to an increase of 1.01%) compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 701.8 thousand people (equivalent to an increase of 1.41%) compared to the same period last year. The thriving labor market has led to increased recruitment demand in many occupational groups, and businesses have also accelerated recruitment to compensate for the shortage of personnel to serve production activities.

As one of the units with large recruitment needs, Mr. Nguyen Nam Lien, General Director, Principal of Viet Flight Training under Vietnam Airlines Corporation, said that this unit does not limit the recruitment of pilot candidates because each year a minimum of 80 - 100 people are needed, but in reality each year the number of recruited pilot is less, even though the lowest starting salary is 80 million VND/month.

Many other businesses are also in need of recruitment such as: Garment 10 Corporation, Duc Giang Garment Company, Hoa Sen Group, supermarket systems... with salaries from 5 - 30 million VND/month and many other incentives to attract workers.

For example, Garment 10 Corporation is in need of recruiting direct workers in positions such as sewing, cutting, ironing, and workers in jobs such as table assistants, kitchen assistants, receptionists... Depending on the position and level, workers' income ranges from 7-15 million VND/month.

Mr. Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of Hanoi Employment Service Center, informed that this unit is currently receiving many orders from businesses with large recruitment needs, with diverse fields and occupations focusing mainly on a number of fields such as: Services, tourism, sales, business, information technology, e-commerce... Besides, businesses and factories are also in need of recruiting a large number of production workers that do not require much qualifications.

According to statistics, by the end of June, the entire city of Hanoi has created jobs for nearly 119,000 workers, the number of workers receiving jobs after interviews at 124 sessions and job exchange floors is 7,832 workers; The number of workers given jobs through labor export is 1,201 people; The number of workers provided with jobs by employment services by businesses and through other forms is 64,820 people.

According to Mr. Thanh, implementing the city's plan to restore and develop the labor market to create jobs in 2022, the center continues to coordinate with districts in the area to organize job transaction sessions and activities to support workers in finding suitable jobs and businesses recruiting workers to promptly recover after being severely affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Employment Service Center also said that this unit currently has a database of workers receiving unemployment insurance policies. Therefore, the center will filter out each person with professional qualifications according to field and job needs, then contact workers via email and zalo to connect labor supply and demand.

In addition, the center will also coordinate with businesses to go to the locality to propagate labor recruitment needs, as well as connect with employment service centers in other localities such as: Bac Ninh and Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen... to introduce businesses to recruit unskilled workers.
